Tuscany destination wedding photographer

Wedding photography for celebrations rooted in place, atmosphere and connection

Tuscany has a way of making a wedding feel like more than a single day.

The rolling hills of the Val d’Orcia, the vineyards of Chianti, the stone streets of Siena and Florence, the quiet beauty of the Tuscan countryside — each place has its own atmosphere, rhythm and light.

As a Tuscany-based wedding photographer, I photograph destination weddings for couples coming from Italy and from all over the world. My approach is candid, calm, focused on you: I want you to experience your wedding fully, while I document the moments, gestures and emotions that make it yours.

From an intimate elopement in the Tuscan countryside to a multi-day celebration with guests travelling from different countries, I photograph weddings with an editorial eye and a documentary sensibility.

Getting married in Tuscany

For couples planning a destination wedding, Tuscany offers an extraordinary setting — but the beauty of the location is only part of the experience.

A destination wedding often brings together people who may have travelled a long way to be there. It can become a weekend, or even several days, of dinners, conversations, celebrations and unexpected moments shared with the people you love.

I deeply love all the “side” stories behind the main story: the anticipation before the wedding, your guests arriving at the villa and cheering with your loved ones, your parents seeing you dressed for the first time… these moments are part of your wedding story too, and you’ll see all of them in my pictures.

Why choose a Tuscany-based wedding photographer?

Planning a wedding from abroad can feel overwhelming, especially when you are unfamiliar with the area.

Working with a photographer who lives and works in Tuscany means having someone who understands not only photography, but also the places, the light, the landscape and the rhythm of weddings here.

I know that a summer wedding in the Tuscan countryside can have a very different atmosphere from an autumn celebration in Florence. I understand how quickly the light changes among vineyards and olive groves, how beautiful the countryside can be at sunset, and how important it is to leave enough space in your timeline to actually enjoy it.

I can also help you think through the photography side of your day before the wedding — from planning a realistic timeline to choosing the best moments for portraits, group photographs and couple’s time.

A destination wedding is more than one day

Many couples choose to turn their wedding in Tuscany into a full wedding weekend. This gives everyone more time to settle in, reconnect and celebrate without trying to fit everything into a single day.

Welcome dinner

A welcome dinner is often the first time all your guests come together.

It might be a relaxed pizza party at your villa, an evening at a local restaurant or a long table surrounded by vineyards. These gatherings are full of anticipation and genuine interactions, making them wonderful to photograph.

The wedding day

Your wedding day deserves photographs that feel like you.

Alongside the important moments — getting ready, the ceremony, family photographs, portraits and reception — I pay attention to everything happening around them: yhe way your friends look at you during the ceremony, your father’s reaction as you walk down the aisle, a friend helping you with your dress, the laughter around the dinner table… these are the details that bring you back to how the day actually felt.

The morning after

A relaxed brunch, a swim at the villa or a final lunch with your guests can be a beautiful ending to a wedding weekend. If you are planning a multi-day celebration, photography doesn’t have to stop when the wedding is over.

Elopements and intimate weddings in Tuscany

Tuscany is also a beautiful place for an intimate wedding or elopement.

Perhaps it is just the two of you, or a small group of your closest people.

You might exchange vows overlooking the Val d’Orcia, celebrate in a private villa near Florence, or have an intimate dinner in the Tuscan countryside.

Whatever the size of your celebration, the experience deserves to be documented with the same care.

Small weddings often leave more room for spontaneity — and that is something I love to photograph.

Multicultural and international weddings

Tuscany attracts couples from many different countries and backgrounds, and no two celebrations are quite the same.

Some weddings bring together different cultures, languages, religions and family traditions. Others combine a civil ceremony in Italy with traditions from the couple’s home countries. I have deep respect for other cultures and one of the best part of my job is discover always new traditions, new ways of celebrating love.

I love to document different types of weddings, get in touch with traditions from all over the world.

Your wedding timeline

A good photography timeline isn’t about filling every minute with photographs., it is about creating enough space for the important moments to happen naturally.

Depending on your plans, your day might include:

Getting ready
The quiet beginning of the day, details, family and friends, and those last moments before the ceremony.

First look or time together
For couples who choose to see each other before the ceremony, this can create a private moment away from the guests.

Ceremony
From the anticipation before walking down the aisle to the emotions, rituals and celebrations afterwards.

Family photographs
Organised efficiently so you can return to your guests as quickly as possible.

Couple portraits
A little time for the two of you to slow down and enjoy the surroundings.

Dinner and celebration
Speeches, conversations, laughter, dancing and all the unscripted moments in between.

The exact timeline will always depend on your plans, venue and season. I work with you and your planner to create a schedule that allows you to enjoy the day rather than spend it following a camera.

Photographing weddings across Tuscany

Tuscany is incredibly diverse, and every area offers a different setting for a wedding.

Florence

For couples drawn to art, architecture and the atmosphere of an Italian city, Florence offers an elegant setting for both intimate celebrations and larger destination weddings.

Siena

Medieval streets, historic architecture and the surrounding countryside make Siena a wonderful choice for couples looking for an authentic Tuscan atmosphere.

Chianti

Vineyards, olive groves, stone villas and winding country roads define the landscape of Chianti. It is particularly beautiful for outdoor celebrations and relaxed wedding weekends.

Val d’Orcia

The iconic landscapes of the Val d’Orcia are among the most recognisable in Tuscany — rolling hills, cypress-lined roads, vineyards and golden evening light.

Lucca

Lucca combines the intimacy of a historic Tuscan town with beautiful villas and countryside nearby, making it a versatile location for destination weddings.

Arezzo

Arezzo and its surrounding countryside offer a quieter alternative for couples looking for historic architecture, beautiful estates and a more intimate atmosphere.

Maremma

Wild landscapes, vineyards, olive groves and proximity to the coast give Maremma a character of its own. It is an especially beautiful setting for relaxed, countryside celebrations.

I also photograph weddings throughout Tuscany, from private villas and historic estates to countryside relais, castles and intimate venues.

Your photographs should feel like your wedding

There is no single way a wedding should look.

Some celebrations are elegant and carefully designed. Others are relaxed, spontaneous and full of laughter. Some couples want beautiful portraits and editorial photographs; others are more interested in having their families and friends documented naturally.

Most couples are somewhere in between.

My approach combines documentary photography with a refined, editorial sensibility. I will give you direction when it is useful, especially during portraits, but I won’t turn your wedding day into a photoshoot.

You should be able to be present, to hug your friends, to laugh with your family, to dance without thinking about the camera.

And years from now, when you look through your photographs, I want them to bring back not only what your wedding looked like, but what it felt like to be there.
